Rowing Lesson

Take part in an authentic Venetian rowing experience and discover the traditional voga alla veneta aboard a batea buranea, one of the classic wooden rowing boats of the lagoon. Guided by an experienced local instructor, this hands-on activity allows guests to learn the fundamentals of traditional Venetian rowing while navigating quiet canals and small waterways away from the busiest routes.

Thanks to our decades of experience as local residents, we offer knowledgeable guidance throughout the lagoon, ensuring both safety and a high-quality experience. Depending on the number of participants, the lesson takes place aboard traditional Venetian wooden rowing boats of different types, always selected to provide the best balance and comfort.

The meeting point is at our comfortable main headquarters located in Cannaregio, between the Ghetto and the Church of Madonna dell’Orto, about 10 minutes from Santa Lucia train station. The location offers a covered area with tables and benches where guests can relax before or after the experience. Refreshments or light snacks can be arranged on request. Participants may change clothes, leave personal belongings safely, and use restroom facilities.

A direct pickup service from your hotel or another agreed location can also be arranged.

Active participation is encouraged: during the rowing session each participant will have the opportunity to hold a rowing oar and practice the traditional technique, creating a truly immersive experience. However, no one is required to row if they prefer simply to observe and enjoy the ride, making the activity accessible for all levels of experience.

The outing will end at the original embarkation point or at another location to be agreed in advance.

This experience takes place only in favorable weather conditions. In case of cancellation due to bad weather, guests may choose an alternative date.
